Welcome Dirk-Jan van Reenen: A New Gastronomic Chapter at Magna Café Marbella

At Magna Café Marbella, we are excited to welcome a new culinary era with the arrival of our new head chef, Dirk-Jan van Reenen.

Dirk-Jan, a Dutch chef with an impressive international career, has brought his passion for gastronomy to the world’s culinary capitals. His journey began at the Hilton Paris, where he trained in the demanding environment of high-end hotel cuisine. His path then led him to Italy, where he refined his craft at the prestigious Ristorante Notai in Bologna. Back in his home country, the Netherlands, he continued his evolution at renowned places such as Restaurant Joffers Hilversum, Zabars, and the iconic Amstel Hotel Intercontinental in Amsterdam.

It was his time in Curaçao, working at the West Indies Restaurant, that introduced an exotic, tropical dimension to his cooking, blending Caribbean flavors with his technical and personal style.

His experience in Spain has helped solidify his reputation at acclaimed projects such as Terrasana in Laguna Village, Robin Hood, Niche Secret Garden, and South Beach, where his healthy approach, meticulous technique, and skillful combination of flavors and textures were widely praised.

Dirk-Jan is a master of both Mediterranean and Central European cuisines, combining techniques learned during his high-end culinary studies in the United States. His culinary approach is contemporary, flavorful, balanced, and above all, healthy.

Dirk-Jan’s arrival at Magna Café marks the beginning of a new gastronomic proposal that respects the essence of the restaurant: its Mediterranean soul. However, it now embraces a more international, creative, and dynamic cuisine, the result of the fusion of cultures and experiences the chef brings with him.

A global cuisine with the Mediterranean as the foundation, and the joy of eating well as the ultimate goal.

Welcome, Chef Dirk-Jan!
